*The Spheres 2002
Bronze entrance markers covered in swathes of cast bronze Eucalypt pods. Karen Genoff was selected to create a Public artwork representing Adelaide in our Christchurch Sister City. Funded by the city of Christchurch. The work sits in the Halswel Quarry Sister City Garden Christchurch.
These markers were sadly stolen after the Christchurch earthquake.Two Spheres 2002

In 2019 the Sister City committee visited Adelaide and Karen's studio to recommission another work.
Kaurna Wailyu (Kaurna Leaves,) now stands on the site. The artist chose to work in collaboration with Kaurna Elder Uncle Lewis Obrien to symbolically capture aspects of Kaurna culture and language as it pertains to traditional use of the eucalypt leaf. Materials: Laser cut Lyten steel and etched Adelaide Black Hill Granite.
